Unlocking the Benefits of Microneedling & Mesotherapy Facials: All You Need to Know

Hello,

As I’m sure you all know already, I love learning and am always excited when I learn a new skill and can start offering it at my lovely home salon in Brackley. I have been learning a lot recently so you will be getting a few updates about new treatments. I’m always looking for natural alternatives to offer that help with keeping our skin looking good and I have another one to introduce to you, this blog is all about Microneedling and Mesotherapy Facials. If you have any other questions after you have read this, please email me. Thank you , Laura x

What is #Microneedling

Microneedling actively promotes collagen formation. Using an electronically powered needling medical device we deliberately create thousands of tiny puncture wounds. There are multiple, tiny needles which pierce the skin, rather than roll onto it, meaning it does not scratch on the skins surface, giving maximum results and minimal downtime. This triggers the bodies own healing process to rejuvenate and repair the skin, it releases growth factors and creates new collagen and elastin.

This effective treatment is suitable for all skin types and can be used all over the face and body to stimulate the natural production of new collagen and elastin production to thicken the skin thereby erasing wrinkles and smoothing scars.

Why is promoting #Collagen formation so important?

Collagen is a structural protein found in the skin. Its fibres form a supporting mesh that is responsible for the skin's youthful characteristics, such as strength, texture, and resilience. As we age, the skin's ability to replace damaged collagen diminishes. The first signs of this are believed to be seen in our late 20s.

Collagen molecules are too large to be delivered directly as a topical product, so we need to look at ways to stimulate new collagen growth. I know offer Microneedling and Mesotherapy Facials or Collagen Lift as a way of you achieving this.

Is Microneedling suitable for everyone?

This treatment is not suitable for everyone, clients are required to have a complimentary consultation prior to treatment to determine suitability.  Please also refer to my website to check the list of contraindications (reasons why treatment cannot go ahead).

How is the Microneedling & Cliniccare Mesotherapy treatment performed?

Your Full-Face Microneedling #facial treatment will take place in my gorgeous home salon in #Brackley, Northamptonshire. You will lay down on my comfy treatment couch (heated when appropriate) then I will complete the facial which includes:

Cleanse: A botanical foam cleanser suitable for all skin types will gently remove impurities, unnecessary sebum and make-up residue.

Gentle Exfoliation: The Instant Peel is an enzymatic peeling gel that gently exfoliates and leaves skin feeling silky soft, allows for a more even penetration of the mesotherapy serum

Refresh: Any leftover residue is removed with HYAL+ Toner, which contains a very high concentration of low molecular weight Hyaluronic acid to promote cellular regeneration and deeply hydrate.

Disinfect: The skin is then disinfected to ensure that any remaining surface oils or impurities are removed.

Microneedling: Next the microneedling will take place combined with a Cliniccare mesotherapy serum, this introduces the active ingredients for an enhanced and more targeted treatment. I can treat various skin imperfections and restore the healthy youthful appearance of skin, by stimulating the natural production of collagen and elastin.

Hydrate: Application of Cliniccare Face Mask. You can lay back and relax for 15 minutes, listening to chilled music. You could also select any of the relaxing add on treatments I offer too. I will gently massage the excess serum into your skin as well.

Enhance, Heal & Calm: (This step depends which treatment you have booked) LED Light Therapy to further enhance your results. Increasing collagen, elastin production and reducing redness.

Protect: To end the treatment I will apply the SPF, this provides effective all day protection against harmful UV rays.

Other Frequently Asked Questions

Does microneedling hurt? What does microneedling feel like?

The very top layer of the skin doesn’t have many nerve endings, so shallow microneedling is virtually painless. However, the level of discomfort can increase as you go deeper into the skin. We would use topical anaesthetic if doing deeper microneedling. You will usually experience some redness after the treatment.

Are there any side effects to microneedling?

After microneedling, your skin will likely turn a little red/pink, and you may experience some pinprick bleeding. Your skin might also look a little blotchy. Rest assured; this is temporary. Your skin may also be a little puffy and very rarely you may experience some slight bruising, especially around areas of thin tissue (such as the delicate skin around the eyes).

What will the skin feel like after microneedling?

After microneedling, your skin also may feel a little rough to the touch for a few days and you may notice some visible marks on your skin, both caused by the microchannels created during microneedling. These side effects are all part of the body’s healing process.  Microneedling triggers a trauma/healing response in the skin (which is what helps stimulate the production of collagen and elastin).

When will I see results from microneedling?

Microneedling will give some instantaneous results, in the form of a ‘glow’. You’ll also notice some redness (as mentioned above) because the skin has been penetrated and blood flow to the skin has increased. Skin cells take between 4-6 weeks to turn over a full life cycle, and you’ll see results amplifying during this time as your skin heals and new tissues is flooded with collagen and elastin.

How many treatments are recommended?

3-4 treatments are recommended.  For optimum results each treatment needs to be 4-6 weeks apart.

Want to enhance your treatment further? Why you should add on the LED Light Therapy treatment after Microneedling.

Adding a 20-minute LED Light Therapy to the end of the treatment improves wound healing. Studies have demonstrated that the use of red light is beneficial for wound healing and combining both treatments is the perfect match to achieve healthy, glowing, rejuvenated skin.

So, there we go, I hope you feel well informed now about this new treatment and excited to book in and try it. I have all the insurance and protocols in place. I have uploaded the services to my booking system so it’s ready to go.
